A unique opportunity for Virginia CVBs

Showcase and cross-promote what is happening in your community for the Civil War Sesquicentennial

Sesquicentennial of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run Destination Village
Thursday, July 21, 2011

In the spirit of partnership, the Prince William/Manassas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership, the Manassas National Battlefield Park, the Virginia Sesquicentennial Commission and some of our other partners are creating a “Destination Village" during the 150th commemorative events scheduled July 21, 2011 in Prince William County and Manassas. The Prince William/Manassas CVB would like to extend an offer to fellow Virginia CVBs to Provide the visitors with an overview of tourism opportunities in Virginia and along the Journey Through Hallowed Ground

The Destination Village is an alley of tented tables that visitors to the July 21 commemoration will have to walk through to get to the activities. We want to offer VACVB members an opportunity to cross-promote what’s happening in Virginia for the 150th Anniversary and beyond.

When:   July 21, 2011 from 8am-5pm (times to be confirmed)

Where:   The area between the Northern VA Community College campus and the Manassas National Battlefield Park. This is the only approach to the Park, so the area is very significant.

What else:  This the area where the Virginia Sesquicentennial History Mobile will be making its debut, guaranteeing a lot of exposure

Cost:  FREE (thank you Prince William & Manassas CVB!) if you bring a 6-foot table and 10' x 10' tent.  If you need us to provide a table and tent, we will get you the information to order directly from the event company that the PWC/Manassas CVB is using. There will be no electricity and you will have to man your own table.

RSVP:   Esther Turner, Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership - Email esther@jthg.org by Friday, April 15, 2011 if you would like to take advantage of this offer.
