Thank you for considering serving on one of our member committees! These groups of volunteer leaders from across the state, just like yourself, serve the purpose of enhancing VADMO’s offerings for our broader membership.

Here is a brief synopsis of the current available committees:
· Manages the annual Virgo Awards program, including award categories, evaluation criteria, awards promotion, recognition support for the award recipients.
· Recommends changes to the awards program, criteria, and evaluation.
· Sets and follows a budget approved by the Executive Committee to fund the program.
Education & Content Committee (Formerly Professional Development)
· Solicits input from VADMO members regarding the education needs of the tourism industry professional.
· Recommends new educational offerings for Executive Committee approval.
· Oversees the program development for the educational and social programs of all VADMO meetings.
· Provides professional development input to the VA-1 conference as requested.
VADMO Tourism Leadership Institute (VTLI) - New!
· Reviews and develops the curriculum for the VADMO Tourism Leadership Institute (VTLI).
· Identifies and contracts with industry professionals and educators to act as instructors in the program.
· Identifies and coordinates with communities to host instructional meetings throughout the year.
Marketing & Communications Committee (New!)
· Assists the Executive Committee and administrative organization on any creative design components of VADMO, such as the website design and content, flyers for meetings and symposiums, VLTI peripherals, etc.
· Helps craft communications such as email newsletters to the membership.
Member & Recognition Committee (Formerly Membership)
· Welcomes new members to the association.
· Reviews and develops member benefits.
· Conducts membership recruitment efforts.
· Acknowledges and celebrates member accomplishments.
· Identifies both internal and external potential sponsors for VADMO.
· Coordinates with the Executive Committee to identify sponsorship opportunities and levels at annual events.
· Works with the Leadership Institute Committee to establish sponsorship opportunities and identify potential sponsors.
· Coordinates and executes the annual AAA Blitz program for VADMO members.
· Creates unique opportunities for promotion of member destinations.
· Collaborates with tourism and travel partners to develop opportunities for members.
· Maintains an industry travel promotion event calendar and informs members about tourism promotion opportunities.
· Assists state-level tourism promotion activities coordinated by the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
