    VDP - Virginia Destination Professional                                      Certification

    Program Registration

    The VADMO VDP certification is a unique Virginia-centric DMO individual professional certification. Using activities and events you have participated in since January 1, 2017 and forward, you may register for this certification program. There are two components to this certification program, a knowledge component and an experiential component, which must be completed to earn the VDP certification

    Activities counting towards the certification requirements must have occurred within the past two years.  Renewal of your certification must be done two years after it is achieved  to maintain your credentials. Before you submit materials, please register for the program.  Your registration fee does not expire, but when you achieve the VDP all activities must be within the two year window.

    For example, all candidates who achieve their VDP in 2020 must have all required activities completed since January 1, 2018.

    2019 Virgo Awards
    Entry & Payment



    The VIRGO Travel & Tourism Awards Program is organized by the Virginia Association of Destination Marketing Organizations (VADMO) and is open to individuals, businesses, organizations or other entities located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The program is open to VADMO members and non-members. Entries must have been produced between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 and should pertain to programs that promote travel to and within the Commonwealth of Virginia, not outbound travel.

    DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: June 19, 2020 (EXTENDED)

    ENTRY PROCEDURES 

    Please enter your submissions here.

    • All nomination material will be submitted electronically using this form.
    • Choose the appropriate category for submitting each entry.
    • Material may not exceed 10 pages in total and may be submitted in MS Word, PowerPoint, or PDF. (Nominees will also bring their nominations to VA-1)
    • Each nomination placed on black on black foam board no larger than 20'' by 30''.
    • All entries will be displayed at VADMO tourism Symposium

    First Three Entries: VADMO member $35 each | Non-members $50 each

    Fourth Entry (plus):  VADMO member $25 each | Non-members $40 each

    VADMO 2020 Sales Blitzes

    About

    Join VADMO as we canvas AAA offices and meet with tour operators in our bordering state/drive markets. Team captains are in the process of mapping out our week and more teams could be added for additional calls.

    What will the AAA Offices / Tour Operators receive?

    At each of our visits, a Resource Binder with profile sheets from participating DMOs and a Virginia Is For Lovers bag filled with “goodies” supplied by the participants to be shared. Teams will review each of the destinations/profile sheets in the binder with the tour operators or AAA auto travel counselors.

    Benefits to participating DMOs:

    For those only sending profile information, be assured that everyone’s profile sheet and destination will be included in the Resource Binder and reviewed with staff members who make travel recommendations. Sample itineraries for tour operators will be shared or created during our desk side calls.

    An after action report will be sent to participating DMOs with office mailing address, staff listing with contact information and any special notes or requests made during our presentation for follow up.

    Date: 

    Week of August 3-7, 2020 - Team leaders will determine starting point, date, time.

    Cost:

    $100 for DMO’s participating in the actual Blitz, making calls to tour operators and AAA offices.

    $125 for DMO’s participating by sending materials to be included in the calls.

    Materials:

    Each DMO will need to send their destination profile sheet in a 3-hole punched plastic sheet protector along with their Visitor Guide booklet to be included in the binder. (Holders for the guides will be provided.) 50 copies of each will be required to cover all of our calls. This number could increase if we are able to add teams.

    Gift items included in the bags will give DMOs additional exposure. Consider small items, like ink pens, hi-liters, cell phone pockets or other similar sized items. No large water bottles, please. We are stuffing 50 bags, so send as many items as you would like to share in each of the bags.

    DMOs will need to send their profile sheets and visitor guides in advance for placement in binders and bags. Please send all profile sheets and gift items by July 17 , 2020 to:
